Ghadir Khumm is a historically significant site situated between Mecca and Medina. It is renowned for the event where the Prophet Muhammad, on his return journey from his Farewell Pilgrimage in 632 CE, is reported to have stopped and delivered a sermon. During this sermon, he pronounced Ali ibn Abi Talib as the “mawla” (a term meaning patron or master) for those whom Muhammad was already the mawla.
